Installation Guide β€” Step by Step

From a fresh install to a fully personalized keyboard in about three minutes.

Step 1 β€” Install the App

Open Google Play, search for the app, tap Install. Wait for the download to finish.

Step 2 β€” Open the App Once

Tap Open from the Play Store, or find the icon in your app drawer. The first launch shows a short onboarding wizard. Tap through it; you can change any setting later.

Step 3 β€” Enable the Keyboard in System Settings

The wizard will offer to take you directly to the right screen. If you skipped it:

  1. Open Settings on your phone.
  2. Go to System β†’ Languages & input β†’ On-screen keyboard β†’ Manage keyboards. (On some skins: General management β†’ Keyboard list and default.)
  3. Find My Photo Keyboard in the list and toggle it On.
  4. Read the permission dialog and confirm.

Step 4 β€” Set It as the Default Input Method

  1. Open any app that accepts text (Messages, Notes, the browser address bar).
  2. Tap inside a text field so a keyboard appears.
  3. Look for the small keyboard icon in the navigation bar β€” tap it.
  4. Select My Photo Keyboard.

Alternative: Settings β†’ System β†’ Languages & input β†’ Default keyboard β†’ My Photo Keyboard.

Step 5 β€” Pick Your First Theme

Open the app, go to Themes, browse by category, tap a theme, then tap Apply. The change is instant.

Step 6 β€” Set a Photo Background

  1. In the app, go to Themes β†’ My Photos.
  2. Tap Pick from gallery.
  3. Choose a photo. Drag to position; pinch to scale.
  4. Optional: tap Adjust β†’ Blur and slide for readability.
  5. Tap Apply.

Step 7 β€” Tweak Typing Behavior

Open Settings β†’ Typing in the app. Recommended starting point:

  • Autocorrect: Medium
  • Gesture input (swipe): On
  • Voice input: On
  • Sound: Off (most adults disable it)
  • Vibration: Low

Uninstalling

Long-press the app icon β†’ Uninstall. Android will automatically fall back to your previous default keyboard. No data is left behind beyond standard Android app cache.

Switching Back to the Stock Keyboard

You do not need to uninstall. In any text field, tap the keyboard icon in the navigation bar and pick your stock keyboard. You can switch back at any time.
